Update for those of you who attended my birthday party: we collected $260 for an orphanage in Kenya to help fund a new computer since their only one broke. My friend Karen is volunteering over there as we speak and notified us of their need. I just received this nice note from the Orphanage’s manager. We’re all invited to Kenya! Lets go!

On behalf of the children, staff and volunteers of Watoto Wa Baraka we would like to say a big thank you for your good efforts in raising $260 for the orphanage. Karen told us of the event that you had
planned a few weeks ago and we have all been excited to hear of its success.
We will be intending to direct this support towards the purchase of a computer for the office, which will make a huge difference to our administrative work, as well as allowing us to provide a better
service to the children.
All that is left is for you to come over to Kenya so we can thank you in person! Be assured that yourself and all your generous friends are very welcome here at the orphanage, to continue the good work that
