Marcus just tweeted something I feel very strongly about, and it’s a trap I’ve seen happen to start-up people, artists, producers and people in several other fields. It’s especially prevalent in professions that come with groups of people fawning over you, and telling you that you’re amazing. If you have insecurities that are being appeased by constant praise from people that don’t actually know you, it becomes an addiction and toxic for your relationships with those around you that still tell you the truth. I always try to be vigilant about this.
