One of the things I have come to accept as a budding serial entrepreneur is that I may never EVER feel satisfied. If I ever do have this feeling, then I imagine it will be fleeting. That is what makes it fun though. It helps in my eyes to be able to know that going into things before deciding you are going to put yourself through such a rollercoaster.

The impulsive, feel-good seeking behavior is actually driven by a birth defect of having to few dopamine receptors. It's often socially acceptable but addictive like any other neurotransmitter deficit. Look at MIT World for cool but complicated videos on dopamine. Send me an email and I'll send you an article Sapolsky wrote, he's great.

[...] Verhoeve writes an interesting postabout this phenomena. What he writes rings true. Most of the time we work so hard for accolades. [...]

This reminds of what I've heard many pro athletes say. Those who've won the Superbowl talk about feeling let down and thought, "This is what we worked so hard for?"
