Digital retail is where we like to focus our attention at Engine Room Recordings and Family Records. It’s not only the future, it’s already the present. I don’t know anyone under 25 that has bought more than one physical cd at a retailer in probably a year. People still purchase them as tokens of support and as fans at their favorite bands’ shows, especially in the indie scene and especially when the packaging is nice, but digital retail is where it’s at for the masses. Ease of use reigns supreme. We’re lucky to have a great digital distributor in The Orchard who help us every step of the way and truly support great music.
